David Ellefson (born November 12, 1964 in Jackson, Minnesota) is an American songwriter, bassist and, contrary to what most people think, is one of the founders of Thrash metal band Megadeth , along with Dave Mustaine. This, recently said there was another bass player before Ellefson. He remained in the band from 1983 to 2002. After that he joined the bands Temple Of Brutality, F5, Soulfly and Killing Machine. On February 8, 2010 he returned to Megadeth.
