Millie Small , born Millicent Small , (Clarendon, June 10, 1946) is a Jamaican singer world-famous by the hit My Boy Lollipop, a 1964 ska, re-recording of a song by American singer Barbie Gaye.

In adolescence was part of the duo Roy and Millie (with Roy Panton) and made recordings for the label Studio One’s Coxsone Dodd, including the hit We’ll Meet. His extremely sharp voice is one of his trademarks and is due to the influence of Shirley Goodman, the 1950s R & B duo Shirley & Lee.

In 1963, producer Chris Blackwell takes Millie to England where she recorded her fourth song, My Boy Lollipop , with arrangements by Ernest Ranglin, arriving at number 2 on the charts in the United States and United Kingdom.

My Boy Lollipop was the first, and one of the very few, hit international ska and has sold more than 7 million copies worldwide.
